Nearly half a million immigrants in Poland are unable to fully utilize their skills, according to a new study. The report reveals that 48 percent of immigrants are working in positions below their qualifications. This mismatch between their expertise and job roles limits their economic potential and contributes to a growing issue in the Polish labor market.
Many highly qualified workers, especially from Ukraine and Belarus, end up taking lower-skilled jobs due to language barriers, lack of recognition for foreign qualifications, or limited access to professional networks. This not only hampers individual career growth but also prevents Poland from benefiting fully from the talent pool within the immigrant community.
Experts argue that the Polish government and employers need to implement measures to better integrate immigrants, including recognizing foreign qualifications and providing targeted language and vocational training. Addressing these challenges could unlock significant economic gains and better align the labor market with the country’s growing needs.
