Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced plans for 50% of army modernization spending to be allocated domestically. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the importance of supporting Polish arms plants, both public and private. Currently, Poland dedicates 4% of its GDP to defense, twice the NATO recommendation. He also outlined the "East Shield" program, part of the National Defense and Deterrence Program for 2024-2028, with a minimum investment of PLN 10 billion, partly funded by the EU. Kosiniak-Kamysz affirmed the involvement of Polish companies in the "East Shield" initiative. Prime Minister Donald Tusk unveiled a significant project, "Shield East," aimed at fortifying Poland's borders, allocating PLN 10 billion for the endeavor.
