Intense drought has hit parts of Poland, Polish state water management (WP) stated in a press release.
“The latest data for January 2020 indicates low soil moisture… The reason is primarily the lack of precipitation – snowless and dry, and warmer winter – prevents moisture buildup in the soil,” adds the communique.
The country’s western, northern and central regions have been affected the most.
According to scientists, 2019 was the second hottest year on record globally.
