Poland with one of the lowest youth unemployment figures in EU

In 2022, Poland was among the five European Union countries with youth unemployment rates below 4%, according to Eurostat. Throughout the EU, there were 4.48 million unemployed young people aged 15 to 29, accounting for 6.3% of the population in that age group. This represents the historically lowest proportion since 2009 (9%). However, the situation varied significantly among EU countries. The share of young unemployed people in the total population was below 4% in the Czech Republic (2%), Germany, Bulgaria (both 3.3%), Hungary, and Poland (both 3.5%). On the other hand, Spain (11.2%), Greece (10.6%), Sweden (10.3%), and Cyprus (8.8%) had higher rates.
Most EU countries saw a decrease in the proportion of unemployed youth compared to 2021, with a few exceptions such as Cyprus, Latvia (both increased by 0.1 percentage points), Romania (+0.3 percentage points), and Estonia (+0.4 percentage points).
