Poland’s GDP 20% below EU average in 2023

In 2023, the highest GDP per capita was recorded in Luxembourg, while the lowest was in Bulgaria, according to Eurostat. Eurostat calculated GDP per capita expressed in terms of purchasing power standards. Poland had GDP per capita 20 percent below the EU average.

The information is based on Eurostat's published flash estimates of purchasing power parities and GDP for 2023. The research indicates that Luxembourg and Ireland had the highest levels, exceeding the EU average by 140% and 112% respectively. On the other hand, Bulgaria recorded the lowest GDP per capita, 36% below the EU average, followed by Greece (-33%) and Latvia (-29%).
