The value of art and antique sales in Poland declined by 12.8 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year, according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS). In 2023, the art and antiques market in Poland generated a total of PLN 567.7 million in sales. Auctions accounted for the largest share, with sales reaching PLN 350.6 million.

Based on data gathered from 200 entities operating in the art and antiques market, nearly 60 percent of these businesses primarily engaged in sales, while the remaining entities also conducted exhibition activities. Among art and antique categories, painting dominated the market, with sales in this segment amounting to PLN 471.9 million, representing over 83 percent of the total sales value for this category of goods.

Auctions generated the highest sales revenues for art and antiques, bringing in PLN 350.6 million.
