The total value of insurance policies in Poland in 2021 increased by 9.1% y/y to PLN 69.2 billion, which is the highest result among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, a report by the ISI Emerging Markets Group showed.
Life insurance value increased 6.7% year-on-year to PLN 22.1 billion, and property insurance rose 10.4% to PLN 47.1 billion.
EMIS experts warn that high inflation may reduce interest in insurance products, and high interest rates increase the costs of claims, especially for property insurance. “However, as 2021 has shown, the insurance sector is able to bounce back after a difficult period," the report says.
