Polish Nuclear Project to Boost Economy by Over PLN 100 Billion

A report by PWC commissioned by Westinghouse estimates that Poland's nuclear project, spanning 20 years with the construction and operation of six AP1000 reactors, will inject PLN 118 billion into the GDP, generating PLN 50 billion in salaries and PLN 51 billion in tax revenues. The project, part of the Polish Nuclear Energy Program, aims to construct two power plants with three reactors each, as outlined in the Polish-American intergovernmental agreement. The first power plant, in Pomerania, is set to begin construction in 2026, with the first unit operational by 2033. The project anticipates significant employment, with approximately 205,000 people engaged during construction and 16,000 during operation, highlighting its potential to stimulate the Polish economy.
