Raising wages is safe for Polish economy – Kaczyński

“The NBP does not see any threats to the economy in connection with the government’s plans to increase wages,” Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of Law and Justice (PiS), said commenting on the opinion that the planned increases may have a negative economic impact.
“Yesterday I had the opportunity to talk with the president of the central bank who presented the first estimates of the impact of the proposed changes on the economy,” Kaczyński said.
For 2020, the government proposes an increase in the minimum wage to PLN 2,600 gross, from PLN 2,250 (+15.6 percent). What is more, Kaczyński announced on Saturday that at the end of 2020, this number will rise to PLN 3,000, and at the end of 2023 to PLN 4,000.
