No statute of limitations for pedophile offenses, an absolute ban on working with children for convicted persons and the possibility of establishing a special prosecutor’s team by the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights (RPD) are some of the proposed changes presented by Civic Platform leader Grzegorz Schetyna in response to the recently revealed cases of pedophilia. As Schetyna said, the change in the law results from the need for a faster reaction of the Polish parliament to pedophile scandals, which have been revealed over the past few months.
On Saturday, a documentary by Tomasz Sekielski entitled “Just Do Not Tell Anybody” about pedophilia in the Catholic Church appeared on the Internet. Since its premiere on Saturday, it has had 6.9 million views.
