South Korea approves transfer of Polish Krab howitzers to Ukraine, featuring South Korean technology

South Korea's DAPA, a state-run agency under the Ministry of National Defense, has approved Poland's export license to send Krab self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, according to Kim Jong Czeol, the head of the Europe-Asia department at the South Korean International Cooperation Bureau.
The Krab self-propelled howitzers are constructed using components of the South Korean K9 Thunder howitzer, the Polish fire control system, and the French company Nexter's gun barrels.
It is the first official confirmation that South Korea's government has allowed at least indirect weapons transfers to Ukraine to fight against Russia. South Korean officials had previously refused to comment on the Krabs, fueling speculation about whether Seoul had formally agreed to send them.
