According to an interview, Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy is analyzing two ideas for shortening the working week. The head of the ministry believes that the development of new technologies and changes in the labor market are a reason to start talking about shortening the working week for Poles.
"I hope that we will start the next steps on this path of change of a civilizational nature. We are over 100 years since the introduction of the 8-hour working day, and free Saturdays were introduced almost half a century ago. During this time, a lot has changed. We could take another step, or at least start a conversation on this topic. And we are starting this conversation as a ministry and as the left," Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk declared.
The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy is analyzing two ideas for shortening the working week: a 35-hour working week or introducing free Fridays.
"An organizationally easier solution would be to reduce one day of the working week," Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk added.
