In November 2024, the average shopping basket price rose by 5.8% y/y, reaching PLN 299.58, according to ASM SFA. Month-on-month, prices increased by 3.6%. Price hikes were observed in 10 retail chains, while three recorded declines compared to October. Seven chains reported basket prices exceeding PLN 300.
The largest price increase occurred at Lidl (+33.27%), while Carrefour saw the largest drop (-7.71%). Inflationary pressures, driven by rising raw material and transportation costs, continue to impact consumer expenses. Significant variations in basket prices, with differences of nearly PLN 160 between the cheapest and most expensive chains, highlight the flexibility retailers have in setting prices for various product categories.
