Government sets 2026 minimum wage

The Polish government has submitted a draft regulation confirming that, from January 1, 2026, the national minimum wage will rise to PLN 4,806 gross per month, with a minimum hourly rate of PLN 31.40. This represents a 3% increase compared to the PLN 4,666 set for 2025, up from PLN 4,300 in 2024.
Negotiations over the rate take place annually within the Social Dialogue Council. However, no agreement was reached during the July 2025 session, allowing the Council of Ministers to finalize the amount by regulation, provided it is not lower than the government’s earlier proposal.
Trade unions criticized the decision, arguing for a higher threshold of PLN 5,015 gross, while employer groups called the proposal a compromise. By law, the minimum wage must rise at least in line with inflation, with additional increases tied to GDP growth when wages fall below half the national average.
