BIK: in July, number and value of loans for micro-entrepreneurs dropped

In July 2024, banks issued fewer loans to microenterprises compared to July 2023, with a decrease of 5.8% in the number of loans and 4.2% in value, according to the Credit Information Bureau (BIK). All types of loans saw a decline: investment loans dropped by 35.4%, current account loans by 14.2%, and working capital loans by 7.3%. In value terms, current account and working capital loans saw negative growth of 15.1% and 13.8%, respectively.
However, investment loans experienced a positive growth of 21.6%. For the first seven months of 2024, while the number of loans to microenterprises decreased by 0.3%, their value increased by 3.3%.
