Currently, 43.6 percent of consumers make large or family purchases using pre-prepared lists. Among them, 32.7 percent use paper, while 67.3 percent use smartphones. A year ago, these figures were 58.2 percent, 37.5 percent, and 62.5 percent, respectively.
Now, 52.7 percent of shoppers do not use any list, up from 40.7 percent previously. Additionally, 3.7 percent do not remember if they use lists, up from 1.1 percent. Report authors attribute this trend to falling inflation but predict a slight increase in list usage if prices rise again, particularly via smartphones.
The researchers at UCE RESEARCH believe the situation may soon reverse, as store prices are steadily rising again.
"However, we do not expect consumers to return to last year's level of making such lists, which was nearly 60 percent," the analysts emphasized.
