Poland's Innovation Stagnates: Ranked 26th in Europe

Poland continues to struggle with innovation, ranking 26th out of 40 European countries in the latest European Innovation Scoreboard. The report reveals that Poland remains in the group of "moderate innovators," showing little improvement over previous years. In contrast, countries like Sweden, Finland, and Denmark lead as "innovation leaders."
Despite progress in human capital and digital infrastructure, Poland lags in crucial sectors like research and development (R&D) investment and the commercialization of new technologies. The gap is widening, with 25 European countries now ahead in fostering an innovative economy.
Experts point out that a lack of investment in R&D, limited collaboration between businesses and research institutions, and regulatory challenges are key obstacles to Poland's innovation growth. To catch up, Poland must implement more supportive policies for startups, boost R&D spending, and encourage private-public partnerships to drive technological advancements and economic competitiveness.
