Core inflation in January increased to 3.2 percent against 3.1 percent in December, the National Bank of Poland (NBP) announced in the inflation report.
“According to NBP estimates, in January this year core inflation increased slightly due to growth of prices of non-food goods, with a slight decline in the growth of prices of services,” the report reads.
The increase in the growth rate of prices of non-food goods concerned mainly excise goods (the effect of an increase in excise tax on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
