The Polish government aims to introduce a new package of laws on energy prices in the second half of the year to address concerns about rising energy costs. Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, announced that the legislation, which includes proposals for tariff adjustments to lower energy and gas prices, will be ready by the first half of May. The proposed laws will also introduce energy vouchers to assist those affected by energy poverty. These vouchers, available for the second half of the year, will be one-time payments based on income criteria, targeting approximately 3.5 million households with the lowest incomes. The government intends to ensure that energy prices remain acceptable for all consumers, with no drastic increases expected after the changes take effect on July 1.
