From January to May 2024, Poland's exports fell by 2.9% y/y to €144.6 billion, while imports decreased by 2.3% to €140.5 billion, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). The steepest decline in exports was in mineral fuels, lubricants, and related materials, which dropped by 22.2%.
Other significant declines included industrial goods by 12.0%, non-edible raw materials by 11.7%, and machinery and transport equipment by 11.1%. In contrast, imports saw growth in only one section. Overall, there were declines across all export categories by SITC nomenclature compared to the same period in 2023.
