Healthy life expectancy in Poland is rising, with men averaging 61.3 years and women 64.6 years, according to GUS. Polish women rank 10th in the EU, surpassing the average, while men rank 15th, slightly below the EU average of 62.4 years.
Malta leads the EU, with women enjoying 70.3 years and men 70.1 years of healthy life. Poland also outpaces Germany, where men and women average 60.9 and 61.2 healthy years, despite Germany’s higher healthcare spending.
Men in Poland live shorter lives but spend 82.1 percent of their lifespan in good health, compared to 78.8 percent for women. While Poland has made progress, it still lags behind EU leaders like Malta and Italy, underlining the need for continued healthcare improvements.
