In the first half of 2020, domestic individual investors generated 22 percent of the turnover on the main market of WSE (more by 9 percentage points y/y). Foreign investors were responsible for 58 percent of turnover (3 percentage points less y/y), and institutional for 20 percent (6 percentage points less y/y).
Individual investors continue to lead the way on the NewConnect market, with their share in turnover growing by 9 percentage points on annual basis to as much as 93 percent. The share of institutional investors dropped to 5 percent (8 percentage points less y/y). The share of foreign investors decreased by 1 percentage point y/y and amounted to 2 percent.
In the futures market in the first half of 2020, the share of individual investors decreased by 7 percentage points y/y to 42 percent of turnover, and institutional grew by 8 percentage points y/y and amounted to 38 percent. The share of foreign investors decreased by 1 percentage point to 20 percent.
