One in Three Poles Still Uses a Liquid Thermometer

Fever measurement remains a divisive issue in Poland. While nearly 53 percent of people use electronic thermometers when sick – 28 percent opting for contactless models and almost 25 percent for traditional contact ones – over 29 percent still rely on liquid thermometers. Additionally, nearly 11 percent use various methods.
Electronic devices are valued for speed, while traditional ones are praised for accuracy. Experts are also split on the matter. Some argue that fever levels are irrelevant, while others warn that late detection can be dangerous, especially for children. They stress that the greatest risk occurs when parents rely solely on touch to assess a child’s temperature.
