PKO Bank Polski is preparing to launch a contactless Blik. Contactless Blik will be available to all customers of PKO BP by the end of their vacations according to a press release. Users of IKO application who have phones with Android system will be able to use the solution.

The new form of mobile payments is to be more convenient than typing codes - just unlock the smartphone and put it to the terminal. Payments are made without the need to attach the card, and even without the need to connect to the Internet or mobile network. Blik users will be able to pay this way not only in Poland but also in every contactless terminal accepting Mastercard cards in the world.

For security reasons, a necessary condition for using contactless Blik payments is to have an active device lock, that is to secure the phone with a code, fingerprint, or facial biometrics.

Other banks are also working on the implementation of contactless Blik. We have already written on PRNews.pl that this solution has been announced in the regulations of Bank Millennium and mBank.
