PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) estimated flood damage to railway infrastructure at PLN 880 million as of September 19, 2024. The full extent of the damage is still unclear, as some areas remain flooded and require further inspections. The losses are expected to increase as assessments continue. PKP PLK plans to use PLN 2.54 billion from recapitalization for infrastructure investments.

Additional support is needed to restore the railway network to its pre-flood condition. The European Commission, led by Ursula von der Leyen, announced that affected countries could access €10 billion from the Cohesion Fund to aid in recovery efforts.
