Poland boosts housing funds

The government has approved a bill to increase funding for social and municipal housing by 2.5 times, the Ministry of Development and Technology announced. In 2025, PLN 2.5 billion will be allocated, enabling the construction of up to 15,000 municipal apartments and social housing units, as well as the renovation of student dormitories.
By 2030, annual funding will rise to PLN 10 billion, with PLN 45 billion planned for 2025-2030. Municipalities can apply for subsidies covering up to 80% of investment costs.
The bill also supports public universities in expanding student housing. Additional measures include adjustments to Housing Accounts, such as lowering the minimum monthly contribution to PLN 300, raising the minimum annual premium to 4%, and removing the upper age limit for savers.
