All EU countries made progress between 2010 and 2019 in achieving the UN's 7th Sustainable Development Goal, which aims to provide "access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all" by 2030. Several countries have already achieved some of the targets by 2021.
Poland has ranked higher than Belgium in the implementation of this goal, but is still far from achieving it, along with Malta, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Lithuania.
Sweden is closest to the target, followed by Denmark, Estonia and Austria. Malta has made the most progress.
