Poland talks with Spain about common agricultural policy

Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Henryk Kowalczyk, held talks with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain, Luis Planas, to discuss the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and Spain's upcoming presidency of the EU, as well as the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Kowalczyk stated that Spain supports Poland's aid for farmers affected by the crisis in Ukraine and also backs the creation of larger reserves in the EU to tackle unforeseen circumstances. The two ministers also discussed the reduction of plant protection products, with both countries sharing similar views on the matter.

Kowalczyk emphasized the need for fair competition between EU and third-country agricultural products, stating that the same requirements should be applied to both. The meeting also covered the implementation of Strategic Plans for the CAP, with Kowalczyk stating that the exchange of views was fruitful.
