Poland to be responsible for 1% of global CO2 emissions

Until recently, the average Pole's carbon footprint was larger than the average Chinese's. Poorer countries, which aspire to develop following the path of Europe or the United States, currently often have a much lower ecological footprint than European societies, by several or even ten times. Poland emits about 1 percent of global carbon dioxide or greenhouse gas emissions, but Poland's population is much smaller than 1 percent of the world's population.
"If we can limit and find a different model, primarily based on a circular economy and sustainable development, then the rest of the world will follow suit. We all feel the problems on our skin, most in the subtropical regions, South Asia or Africa," Mikołaj Troczyński, a specialist in the sustainable development team at the WWF Poland Foundation, said.
