The movie 365 days, available on Netflix, based on the novel by Blanka Lipińska, received as many as six nominations for this year's Golden Raspberries. This is the first time in history that Polish production can receive a so-called anti-Oscar.
The film about the turbulent relationship between the Italian mafioso and a Polish woman was nominated in the following categories: worst film, worst director (duo Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes), worst actor (Michele Morrone), worst actress (Anna-Maria Sieklucka), worst script (Tomasz Klimala, Blanka Lipińska, Tomasz Mandes) and the worst remake, copy or sequel (as a failed copy/remake of 50 Shades of Gray).
In addition to 365 days, this year's leader in terms of the number of nominations for Golden Raspberries was the American film Doctor Dolittle with Robert Downey Jr.
The chances of winning the most famous film anti-award this year are, among others, Robert Downey Jr., Adam Sandler, Anne Hathaway, Shia LeBeouf, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bruce Willis. In the past, this dubious award went to, among others, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lopez, and Ben Affleck.
Golden Raspberries are awarded the day before the Oscars – awards of the American Film Academy. The winners of the “award" will be announced this year on April 24. Approximately 1,000 members of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation from 27 countries will select them in online voting.
