The Sejm approved the 2025 state budget with 232 votes in favor and 207 against. The draft now moves to the Senate for review.
The budget includes a record deficit of PLN 289 billion, with revenues of PLN 632.6 billion and expenditures over PLN 921.6 billion. The government forecasts GDP growth of 3.9 percent, inflation at 5 percent, and a 7 percent wage increase, including a 5 percent raise for public sector workers.
Defense spending will reach PLN 186.6 billion, or 4.7 percent of GDP.
"This is a historic investment in Poland's security," Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.
Healthcare funding will increase to PLN 221.7 billion, up PLN 31 billion from last year. Social initiatives include PLN 62.8 billion for Rodzina 800+, PLN 31.5 billion for extra pension payments, and PLN 24.2 billion for pension indexation.
