In terms of transshipment volumes, last year was a record year for the Port of Gdańsk. The largest growth was generated by two cargo groups, namely coal, and oil, which were influenced by the economic and political situation related to the war in Ukraine. Also important were the port's multi-billion dollar investments, which will not slow down in the coming years. Of great importance will be ongoing rail projects to improve the delivery of goods inland.
"Record-breaking transshipments in 2022 mean a new benchmark and new challenges in meeting the state's needs, which will again be for coal and oil. Anyway, not only the Polish state but also needs on the side of German refineries," Slawomir Michalewski, vice president for finance at the Port of Gdańsk Authority, said.
