Rankomat: most home burglaries in ‘24 occurred in Lower Silesia
According to Rankomat.pl, the highest number of home burglaries in 2024 occurred in the Mazowieckie, Dolnośląskie, and Śląskie regions, while eastern regions like Podkarpackie and Podlaskie saw the fewest. However, when adjusted per 10,000 properties, Lower Silesia was the least safe (47 cases), whereas Mazowieckie, despite more incidents, had a lower risk rate (23).
Thieves mainly target electronics such as laptops, TVs, and phones, whose household value has increased significantly. Experts recommend home insurance covering burglary, which costs a few hundred PLN annually. Policies should include outbuildings like garages and storage rooms. With rising property values, securing both physical and financial protection is increasingly essential year-round—not just during vacation periods.
