The Sejm has decided to continue working on a bill that allows allocating 1.5% of agricultural tax to selected farmers' trade unions. The proposal was not rejected in the first reading and will undergo further examination in relevant committees. The bill requires taxpayers to specify the eligible recipient and submit the application electronically. The allocated funds, reduced by transfer costs, would be transferred to the chosen trade union within 30 days of tax payment. To qualify, a trade union must be registered for at least 5 years, have organizational structures in multiple regions, and a minimum number of members in each county. The allocated funds can only be used for the trade union's statutory activities.
The changes are planned to be effective from January 1, 2024.
