The Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (PUIG) together with the Polish Chamber of Commerce (KIG) apply to all economic entities in Poland to create a fund to help Ukraine.
"We are asking for every kind of help, every kind of support - of course, at this stage, it is first and foremost about financial aid. The Entrepreneurship Council will meet today, at which we will discuss together to whom and what exactly the aid will go to," Jacek Piechota, president of PUIG, said.
For the time being, the Chamber has not yet decided on the decisions of Polish companies operating in Ukraine as to their plans and the possibility of further operations there.
Poland is the second most important trading partner of Ukraine after China. The total value of Polish investments is about $1 billion and about 6,000 companies with Polish capital. Tens of thousands of entities trade with Ukrainian partners. They are mostly small and medium-sized companies.
Trade grew at an impressive pace until Russia was invaded. At the beginning of February, Jacek Piechota predicted in an interview for 300gospodarka that this year they had a chance to significantly exceed the level of $11 billion in turnover.
