The World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) is an international organization committed to engaging the private sector in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. Its SDG2000 ranking (Sustainable Development Goals 2000) takes into account the 2000 most influential global companies. The WBA wants to promote a "race to the top" in which business leaders are motivated to do more to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
The list includes two Polish companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange: the largest Polish clothing company, LPP, and the government-controlled oil and energy company PKN Orlen.
In the social category, 13 indicators from three categories were measured, which showed how well human rights are respected in the company, and whether employees have the opportunity to file complaints or concerns in the company.
The LPP company was tested in this category. It scored 1.5 out of 26 possible points. In the years 2022-2023, it is also to be examined in the circular economy category. Orlen, on the other hand, will be examined in the ranking in the climate and energy category in 2021.
