New data reveals that Warsaw's population surpasses the 1.86 million figure previously estimated by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). An alternative study commissioned by the Office of Strategy and Analysis of the Capital City of Warsaw, using telemetry data from Orange Polska, indicates that over 2 million people currently reside in the city. Warsaw’s weekday population peaks at 2,011,700 but drops to 1,710,300 on weekends, underscoring a "weekday expansion" and weekend exodus trend.
The study also highlights a high foreign presence, estimating 250,000 foreigners in the city, including 160,000 Ukrainians, about 60% of the foreign population. The most populated districts are Mokotów, Białołęka, and Praga-Południe, reflecting significant growth since the last decade. This demographic shift is crucial for Warsaw’s strategic planning and development.
