Poles continue to observe rising prices in stores, with most categories steadily increasing in cost. This includes items such as beverages, food additives, sweets, household chemicals, and bread. On the other hand, some categories, such as vegetables and fats, are becoming cheaper. These findings come from the recently published "Retail Price Index."
Experts commenting on the data believe that from September to October, year-over-year price increases will reach around 5%. Furthermore, some predict that by the end of the year, prices could rise by 6-7% year-over-year. Even the ongoing price war among discount stores is unlikely to slow down this trend. While some price drops in specific categories are possible, the overall direction is expected to be unfavorable for consumers.
