In the first half of 2024, 42,200 new residential buildings were completed in Poland, a 22.7% decrease y/y, according to GUS. Single-family homes made up 97.3% of these, containing nearly half of all new apartments. Traditional construction methods were used for 98.1% of these buildings. Most new buildings had two (62.3%) or one (32.1%) stories.
Developers built 61.4% of the new apartments, while individual investors contributed 36.2%. Average apartment sizes were 90.2 sq m, down from 93.9 sqm in 2023. The average construction time was 44 months, with multi-family buildings constructed nearly twice as quickly as single-family ones.
