More and more Ukrainians return to work in Poland. According to ZUS data, in July alone, 22,000 more foreign labor migrants were registered. The register includes a total of 628,000 foreigners, of which the largest group of payers are Ukrainians – informs the analytical center of the international employment agency Gremi Personal
As stated in previous research by the Gremi Personal analytical center, the pandemic is a chance for Polish employers to detain economic migrants who previously planned to work in other countries. However, if a more loyal visa program is not created at the state level, as well as facilitating the assimilation of Ukrainians, then after the quarantine is lifted, they will more and more often choose not Poland, but for example the Czech Republic and Germany.
So far, the inflow of Ukrainians to Poland has been the most stable due to the most convenient logistics and a relatively stable economic situation in Poland. At the same time, the number of jobs offered by Polish employers from sectors such as logistics, food processing, furniture industry, household appliances and construction is growing. In these industries, jobs for Ukrainians will be provided by the end of the year.
“We also noted that in August this year, significantly fewer Ukrainians working in Poland traveled temporarily to Ukraine to prepare their children for the new school year. At the same time, a noticeable increase in the number of economic migrants is expected from September, when Ukrainians traditionally go to work in Poland, and Polish enterprises employing Ukrainians increase production before Christmas,” Evgenij Kirichenko, owner of Gremi Personal, said.
