Resolutions Don’t Have to Be New Year’s Resolutions

Source: FACE IT

As 2025 approaches, many are contemplating their resolutions. What changes will we make in our lives this time? Will we focus on fitness, saving, or investing? Perhaps we’ll learn something new? To truly succeed in the next 25 years, what should we prioritize now, so that we’ll be grateful for the decisions we make today? And why wait until January 1 to start?

New Year’s resolutions are as old as time itself. The idea of a fresh start symbolizes change, with the well-known saying "New Year, new me!" marking the beginning. Gym memberships fly off the shelves, diets are adopted, and travel plans are made. But then comes Blue Monday, the saddest day of the year, when we realize our resolutions have already faltered. Why does this happen?

“The key to success lies in specificity and timing. When you clearly define your resolution and break it down into achievable steps, you increase the chances of success. Saying 'I’ll lose weight' is vague, but planning 'I’ll go to the gym three times a week' is concrete and actionable” Jakub B. Bączek, a motivational expert, summed up.
