As many as half of Poles support online charitable collections, according to a report by SW Research for Allegro. Donations most often go toward humanitarian aid for natural disasters, support for the sick, and help for children or animals. While online fundraisers were previously associated primarily with funding therapies or rehabilitation for critically ill individuals, they are increasingly being used to cover basic needs such as food or winter fuel, as well as to fulfill dreams.

“In 2024, the main category for online fundraisers was the autumn floods. Since September, the number of fundraisers in this category has surged. The needs have been diverse. Initially, we saw a rise in fundraisers for urgent necessities like food and water, but later for more specialized items such as dehumidifiers, generators, and even support for rescue services,” Natalia Zdrojewska, Head of Growth at Pomagam.pl, said.
