Poles spend an average of over three hours a day on the internet. However, according to a study on digital hygiene, only 14 percent of respondents monitor their screen time, and just one in five limits notifications on their phones or computers. Excessive screen use can lead to neglecting responsibilities and relationships, as well as lower mood and self-esteem. The Orange Foundation’s campaign, "Don’t Scroll Through Life," highlights the importance of maintaining digital hygiene, especially during the holiday season, which is a good time for reflection.
“Scrolling has become a universal habit that affects all of us. We scroll everywhere – on public transport, during meetings with loved ones, and even at work or business meetings. Essentially, a screen is always within reach,” Anna Kowalik-Mizgalska, President of the Orange Foundation, said.
The youngest users, particularly Generation Z, spend the most time online, averaging nearly four hours daily. Over 70 percent of this time is dedicated to mobile apps.
