In August 2024, Poland's PMI for the manufacturing sector rose slightly to 47.8 points from 47.3 in July, marking the highest level in five months, according to S&P Global. However, the index remains below the neutral threshold of 50 points, indicating continued contraction in the sector, which has shrunk for the 28th consecutive month—an unprecedented streak since the survey began in 1998.

Despite this, the pace of decline in new orders, production, and employment has slowed, and business optimism for the next 12 months has improved. Export sales also fell for the 30th consecutive month, largely due to weak demand in Europe, especially Germany.
