Retail sales tax PLN 4.66 bln this year, PLN 4.96 bln in ‘26

In Poland’s draft 2026 budget, the government raised its forecast for retail sales tax revenues to PLN 4.66 billion, up from the earlier projection of PLN 4.36 billion. The same amount is planned for 2026. The forecast is based on the average tax performance from June 2024 to May 2025, adjusted for inflation (CPI) and real consumption.
According to the Finance Ministry, revenues from this tax reached PLN 2.31 billion in H1 2025, equivalent to 46.8% of the annual plan. This suggests the government expects steady performance and sees retail activity as a reliable budget contributor.
