Hays Poland: every third employer sees less employee engagement
Employee engagement in Poland has declined significantly in 2025, with 35% of employers and 45% of professionals reporting lower motivation, according to Hays Poland. Engagement levels are only moderate, and declines are more common than improvements. The main reasons include limited pay rises, job insecurity, heavier workloads, and rising pressure on performance. While higher salaries remain the strongest single motivator, employees equally value interesting work and recognition from managers. Career prospects, stability, and work-life balance also play key roles. Experts warn that financial incentives alone cannot solve the problem.
To prevent lower productivity and higher turnover, companies must respond faster by strengthening trust, communication, development opportunities, and meaningful support rather than relying only on pay increases.
