Cult Polish comics at DESA Unicum

America gave pop culture to the fearless superheroes Spider-Man and Batman, France to the hit Gauls of Asterix and Obelix, and Poland gave three friends: Tytus, Romek, and A'Tomek, who could not live without each other, Kajko and Kokosz, or cosmic detective Funky Koval.
On April 11, at the first auction in 2022, Komiks. Re-generation, DESA Unicum will present 88 unique boards, covers, and illustrations from the most popular Polish comic books. Together with Henryk Jerzy Chmielewski, Janusz Christa and Bogusław Polch, the pantheon of comic book creators will also be represented by Tadeusz Baranowski, the author of the series about the curious professor Nerwosolek, and Mieczysław Wiśniewski with the brave and deadly handsome Captain Kloss. The board from the latest comic book "Toshiro" by the legendary Janusz Pawlak, known under the pseudonym Clarence Weatherspoon, will hit the hammer. There will also be works by Grażyna Foltyn-Kasprzak, Nikodem Cabała and the works of Aleksandra Spanowicz, rarely appearing in the market. A collectible treat is Tadeusz Raczkiewicz's Deluge from 1974, which is a never-published complete comic depicting a national epic by Henryk Sienkiewicz. In turn, an unusual artistic commentary on current events is the satirical drawing of Putin by Kamila Szcześniak.
