The Polish Ministry of Finance plans to double the income tax exemption to PLN 60,000 by the end of its current term, as stated by Deputy Finance Minister Jurand Drop. He did not specify a timeline but confirmed that a plan will be presented before the term ends.
In August, Finance Minister Andrzej Domański mentioned that this increase would not be included in the 2025 budget. Despite potential challenges, such as EU procedures for excessive deficits, the government intends to pursue this initiative. The cost of raising the exemption to PLN 60,000 is estimated at PLN 52.5 billion. Prime Minister Donald Tusk also indicated that the proposal would return next year.
