Nearly half of Poles are planning a winter getaway to the mountains, and 7 in 10 intend to use digital payments during their trips, according to a new Visa survey. Whether using cards, smartphones, or smartwatches, digital transactions have become the preferred method for covering daily expenses, which for most travelers ranges from 150 to 399 PLN per person.
The majority (73 percent) plan to stay within Poland, while others are heading to Slovakia, the Czech Republic, or Italy. Combining active leisure with relaxation is a growing trend, with convenience and safety being key priorities.
Digital payments significantly influence customer satisfaction. If resorts didn’t offer cashless options, 16 percent of travelers would spend less, 14 percent would choose competitors, and 11 percent wouldn’t return. Many Poles (65 percent) prefer traveling without a wallet, relying on smartphones or wearables for payments, especially for meals (26 percent), shops, and accommodation (17 percent).
