Preliminary data from Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) show that 199,900 new homes were completed in 2024, a 9.6% drop from 2023, marking the lowest supply in over a decade. Developers delivered 124,300 homes (-9.6% y/y), while individual investors added 69,800 (-12.1% y/y). Total housing construction dropped by 10.3% in floor area to 17.8 million m². Average home size fell to 89.2 m² (from 90.2 m² in 2023).

However, housing permits and starts increased significantly. Permits were issued for 290,700 homes (+20.3% y/y), with developers (+26.6%) and individual investors (+9.3%) leading. Construction began on 233,800 homes (+23.7% y/y). At year-end, 834,800 homes were under construction, a 4.2% increase from 2023.
